Our Philanthropy
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)

CASA was adopted by Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation in 1989 as its national philanthropy with a goal that each abused child entering the judicial system will be appointed an advocate.

Plano Area Alumnae Chapter supports CASA of Collin County.  Founded in 1991, CASA of Collin County is a member of the National CASA Association and Texas CASA, Inc.  CASA is a non-profit agency and is the only Collin County organization that receives court appointments from the District Court Judges to work with abused and neglected children in the court system.  The mission is to provide trained community volunteers for assignment to a child.  The ultimate goal of CASA is to provide each child witha safe, nurturing permanent home in a time frame sensitive to the child's age and needs, thus serving that child's "best interests".
