Buy a kite to honor, in memory of, or as a celebration of a fellow Theta sister for $5. They will be on display at the 2009 Founder's Day Brunch.
Message from the President
It’s back to school time! With Back to School that means it’s Back to Theta! We have an exciting lineup of events for you this year. I hope many of you will join us.
I attended Grand Convention in Miami in June along with Cheryl Phillips from our chapter. We had a wonderful time, despite the torrential rains. I was able to meet and speak with so many Thetas from all over; it was truly a rewarding experience. Some of the changes you see this year are a direct result of ideas shared at Grand Convention. I hope they will enhance your experience as a Theta.
As your president, I view my role as an organizer for the group at large. I know my job will be easy this year, due to the excellent board that was slated at our meeting in March. We have a wonderful group of both new and familiar faces. I hope you will get to know each of them, and share with them any ideas you have to help make your experience as an alum a better one.
Look out for our new fundraiser this year. We are modeling it after the fundraiser that was a huge success at Grand Convention. Learning about the women who have been recipients of scholarships, grants, and friendship fund grants has motivated me to help raise funds for future recipients. We even have a few recipients in our chapter. Be sure to read about them, and get geared up to participate.
I look forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones at our first event in September.
